Nevada State Assemblywoman District 22 Henderson and the Las Vegas Valley
Assemblywoman, District 22
Meet Melissa
Nevada roots. A reputation for hard work.
Melissa was inspired at a young age by her parents. Her father, Mel Close, served as Assembly Speaker and in the Nevada Senate. Her mother, Connie, served as an aide to Senator Paul Laxalt. From them she learned that public service is a way of giving back to the community and helping Nevada keep growing and prospering for future generations.
My goal is simple. Work in a statesman like way to find solutions to the problems facing Nevada families.

As a native Nevadan, Melissa is proud of what we have accomplished together, from passing Reba's Law to celebrating 250 years of American freedom. Reba's Law raised penalties for severe animal cruelty and stands up for the animals who cannot speak for themselves.
